The Montecristo Espada line debuted on the market in 2014, marking the first time that Montecristo was made with only Nicaraguan tobacco in collaboration with the Placencia family. Altadis has teamed up with Plasencia's once again for the Monecristo Espada Oscuro, a cigar wrapped in a dark Nicaraguan wrapper classified as a Habano Rosado Oscuro.
